WICT Announces Application Period Opening for 2016 Rising Leaders Program


Washington, DC– Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) announced that the application period will open today for 180 seats in its highly-regarded Rising Leaders Program. Applications for all six 2016 classes will be accepted beginning today at www.wictrlp.org and must be received no later than 1:00 pm (Eastern) on Wednesday, November 4, 2015.

WICT’s Rising Leaders Program (RLP) is designed for industry professionals at the manager and director level who have demonstrated their potential as well as their desire for leadership and career advancement. During this intensive immersion program, participants will take part in leadership analysis and case study work while expanding their cable business acumen.

Created in 2006 with grant assistance from the Walter Kaitz Foundation, the program doubled in size in 2011 due to the overwhelming interest of the cable industry. Additional support provided by the Walter Kaitz Foundation was instrumental in the expansion of the program.

The six classes will be split by geographic regions and timeframes for the convenience of class participants as noted below. Program details, including the application and fees, are available on WICT’s website at www.wictrlp.org.

  • April 10 – 15, 2016 (Coral Gables, FL)
  • June 5 – 10, 2016 (San Diego, CA)
  • November 13-18, 2016 (Austin, TX)

Upon completion of the program, participants will know how to:

  • Leverage key management tools to build and develop high-performance teams.
  • Utilize advanced tactical and strategic methods to maximize organizational impact.
  • Map the landscape, build alliances and become an effective advocate.
  • Assess diverse leadership styles and align team competencies to exceed organizational goals.
  • Create and manage a personalized leadership development plan.
