Washington, DC – Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) announced today that it now serves 10,529 members and 24 chapters worldwide, making it the largest and strongest WICT in its 39-year history. The announcement coincides with WICT’s record-setting crowds at both the 2018 WICT Leadership Conference and Touchstones Luncheon, with 825 and 1,100 in attendance, respectively.
WICT’s banner year in 2018 comes as the organization prepares for its 40th Anniversary in 2019.
Founded in 1979, WICT’s Ruby Anniversary will be memorialized throughout the year, including a very special 2019 Signature Luncheon on Thursday, May 2. The luncheon will honor the past, celebrate the present, and imagine the future of WICT with a collective of distinguished guests and talent.
“I am thrilled about WICT’s ongoing growth and success. Now more than ever, businesses and leaders recognize the tremendous attributes women bring to their work cultures, making groups like WICT — that help businesses develop their talent — more critical than ever. WICT’s growth is further fueled by the dedication of its staff and volunteer leaders who champion diversity and inclusion worldwide. I can think of no better way to usher in our fortieth year than lunch at The Plaza Hotel with those who have lent greatly to our success and will help lead us into the future,” said Maria E. Brennan, CAE, WICT President & CEO.
As the largest and oldest organization representing women in cable media, WICT routinely enhances and upgrades its member resources to ensure it remains relevant and cutting-edge. Through WICT’s new website with multi-language capabilities, growing social media communities, original research and state-of-the-art educational programs, WICT has worked collaboratively with its stakeholders to ensure its resources reflect the needs of our industry and its workforce. WICT also gives its members access to robust chapter offerings through local programs and networks.
