Washington, DC – Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) today announced that it set a new membership record, surpassing the 10,000 member mark for the first time in its 37-year history. As of October 31, WICT serves 10,168 professionals across the industry.
As the largest and oldest organization representing women in cable telecommunications, WICT is continually enhancing and upgrading its member resources to ensure it evolves rapidly and with relevancy. Through WICT’s upgraded web portal, growing social media communities, and newest distance learning programs, WICT has worked collaboratively with its stakeholders to ensure its resources are readily accessible 24/7. Additionally, WICT gives women access to robust chapter and national leadership development programs, as well as its PAR Diversity Initiative and various STEM-focused activities.
"This growth, in large part, is due to the hard work and commitment of our volunteer leaders who champion WICT across the globe. Reaching this membership milestone is a strong indicator that companies and individuals value the resources WICT provides to support the advancement of women," said Maria E. Brennan, CAE, WICT President & CEO.
WICT Chair Martha Soehren, Chief Talent Development Officer of Comcast University & SVP of Comcast Cable, added, "This achievement is an acknowledgement by our members and partners that WICT provides best-in-class leadership development and advocacy programs. With our mission as a guidepost, WICT helps companies develop a pipeline of talented women who are ready to lead."
Since 1979, WICT has partnered with cable telecommunications and technology companies to provide professional development programs, research and services to help advance women in our industry.
