Gina Stikes is the Senior Director of Corporate Communications at BET Networks, a unit of Viacom, home to the world’s premier entertainment brands. In this role, she serves as a catalyst in accelerating the network’s growth and innovation by managing the corporate brand and positioning the company’s diversified assets, including several cable television channels, digital and mobile offerings, and a music festival business. She is an integral member of the team who leads internal and external communication about BET Networks’ impact as a global entertainment company reaching more than 125 million+ homes around the world.
Prior to joining BET Networks, Stikes was the Director of Public Relations and Marketing at NBC News, working with the network’s top programs including TODAY and NBC Nightly News. Her career spans the media, entertainment and technology industries and she has developed strategies at leading global communications firms, helping to shape the narrative for well-known consumer brands such as HP, Timberland and Microsoft.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Kent State University and holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Communications from Columbia University. She served on the Board of the National Urban League and was recognized with the Collins Award as the Trustee of the Year for her extraordinary service. She currently serves on the Board of the Smithsonian Institution’s Anacostia Community Museum.
