Florida: From Friction to Flow

October 20 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT

Ladies, we’ve got one more Becoming Visible 360™ conversation, and we’re going to have some fun with this one!

No slides. No formal presentations. And no recording.

Just three women who have learned a few things along the way having a candid conversation about when to push, when to let go, and how to know the difference.

Kimberly Maki, creator of Becoming Visible 360™ will host the conversation with two extraordinary women many of you already know and admire:

Julie Danielson
Vice President, Account Management
Spectrum

Sadie Molinet
Vice President, External Affairs
ITG

Julie and Sadie have both been part of the Becoming Visible 360™ journey, and this time they’re joining Kimberly on the other side of the conversation.

So, what are we talking about?

Have you ever found yourself pushing harder and harder on something and wondered: Is this something I need to change? Something I can influence? Or something I need to stop trying to control? That’s where we’re going.

The original From Friction to Flow idea grew from Kimberly’s experience at the 2025 WICT Network Senior Executive Summit, hosted at Stanford University, where Professor Huggy Rao introduced participants to concepts from The Friction Project, co-authored with Robert Sutton. One of those ideas is deceptively simple: great leaders learn to recognize when friction should be introduced or removed to help achieve the outcome they want.

Then Kimberly read and hosted a virtual book club on Mel Robbins’ The Let Them Theory, and another piece clicked. Sometimes the friction isn’t the organization, the process, or the other person. Sometimes it’s the energy we’re spending trying to control something that was never ours to control in the first place!

And that brings us right back to Becoming Visible 360™: Know yourself. Know what matters. Know where you have agency. Then decide how you want to show up.

Kimberly will guide the conversation, but there are no canned answers here. Kimberly, Julie, and Sadie will pull from work, life, and probably a few lessons they wish they had learned sooner.

And, most importantly, we want you in the conversation, too! Bring a question. Bring something you’ve been wrestling with. Or pour a cup of coffee or tea and join us! Come just as you are. We’ll take it from there.
