WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 4, 2022) — The WICT Network is pleased to announce its 2022 Top Companies for Women to Work based on the results of the most recent PAR workplace diversity survey. The survey — which evaluates pay equity, advancement opportunities and resources for work/life integration — is a critical diversity and inclusion resource for individual companies and the industry at large. The PAR Survey enables participating companies to benchmark their progress toward gender equity and provides overall industry benchmarks relative to other businesses and industries. The WICT Network recognizes the following top operators and programmers for their strong gender DEI efforts based on data collected by the survey administrator, PwC.

The PAR survey gauges quantitative and qualitative employee data and evaluates the diversity and inclusion practices of its participating companies. In all, survey respondents represented an impressive 69% of the overall media workforce. This year marks the 19th anniversary of the PAR Initiative, most recently administered in 2019. The 2022 findings show that representation of women increased 5 percentage points from 33% to 38% of the overall workforce, comprising 47% of all new hires in the media, entertainment and technology companies that participated in the 2022 survey. This is an increase of 15 percentage points from 2019. In addition, the overall workforce of women of color increased 6 percentage points since the 2019 survey, and the turnover rate for women is 9 percentage points lower than it is for the overall industry workforce.
“We congratulate this year’s PAR Top Companies for Women to Work for their exemplary DEI practices. The data tells the story: despite the challenges our industry has faced over the last three years, companies have created environments where women are able to grow and thrive,” said Maria E. Brennan, CAE, President & CEO, The WICT Network. “Collecting data to measure progress is a vital factor in gauging progress toward gender equity, and we applaud the commitment of time and resources each of our participants dedicated to complete the 2022 survey.”
The WICT Network gratefully recognizes the Walter Kaitz Foundation for underwriting the PAR survey as well as our survey partner, NAMIC. The full PAR Executive Report will be released later this year. |
