The WICT Network Now Accepting Applications for 2026 Betsy Magness Leadership Institute

Washington, DC – The WICT Network is pleased to open the application period for the 2026 Betsy Magness Leadership Institute (BMLI). Applications to join Class 54 and 55 will be accepted through February 18, 2026, and all materials should be submitted through the online portal at wict.org/bmli-application.

Participants selected for Class 54 and 55 will take part in a comprehensive curriculum focused on high-impact leadership capabilities, including leading change, strengthening communication, navigating complex career decisions, fostering engagement, delivering results and translating vision into action.

Created to honor industry trailblazer Betsy Magness, BMLI is recognized as a premier development experience for high-potential senior leaders. More than 1,300 leaders have completed the program, joining a strong community of alums who drive innovation, influence strategy and shape the future of media, entertainment and technology.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• VP or Senior Director level and above or the professional equivalent
• A minimum of 8 years of executive management experience
• A record of substantive work experience and notable accomplishments
• Approval and support from senior management to participate in BMLI

The Institute’s Founding 

Established by The WICT Network in 1994 with a generous grant from TCI’s Bob Magness and J.C. Sparkman, the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute is named in honor of one of the industry’s most charismatic leaders, a cable pioneer who combined business acumen with compassion. Betsy Magness was instrumental in transforming TCI, later AT&T Broadband and Internet Services, and now Comcast NBCUniversal, into one of the nation’s most prominent and influential media companies.
