Laura Koester is a Vice President of Marketing for Time Warner Cable, West Region. In her current role, she is responsible for shaping the marketing acquisition, retention and communications strategy for Time Warner Cable’s residential products and services in the West Region.
Laura began her career as an Assistant Product Manager at a GE Capital start up that offered telephone service to the MDU sector. In 1997, she then joined MediaOne as their Telephone Service Product Manager to launch the newly created Telephone Service. During the merger of MediaOne and AT&T Broadband, Laura acquired marketing responsibility for the Internet Service as their New Products Marketing Director. A few years later, during the acquisition of AT&T Broadband by Comcast, Laura served as the Marketing Director for all lines of business. Through the most recent transition to Time Warner Cable, Laura has held various marketing positions including Marketing Acquisition Director and Senior Director of Communications.
Throughout her tenure, she spearheaded brand launches, subscriber acquisition programs and multi-faceted direct response programs. Recently her team originated an award winning customer facing campaign, “I am Time Warner Cable”, featuring employees embodying the spirit and customer focus of Time Warner Cable.
A strong advocate of mentoring and team development, Laura has served as a speaker for leadership development panels and as a formal mentor for Time Warner Cable’s mentoring program. She is eagerly planning to pay forward her development and lessons from the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute with her team back home.
Laura holds an MBA from Loyola Marymount University and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from University of California, Santa Barbara. She is actively involved in the Girl Scouts of America. A native of Southern California, Laura lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Brian, and their three children, Ivy, Dexter and Ella.
