Debbie Shea is director of distribution technology operations for Turner’s North America Technology & Operations (NATO) group, a part of Turner Global Technology & Operations (GTO). In this capacity, she is responsible for the overall management of 24/7 global distribution broadcast operations and affiliate support for over 100 networks and variants worldwide. She directs the operation and management of multiple proprietary conditional access/security databases mapped to multiple satellite transponders that distribute varied formats of content to a connected base of over 50,000 downlink receivers. Shea is also involved with internal coordination on issues that impact affiliate operations such as satellite reception, signal decryption and distribution. She also works with vendors to coordinate delivery of technology and upgrades as well as provides input on the development and implementation of new technology for distribution. Shea is based in Atlanta.
Shea has more than 26 years’ experience in the satellite and cable industries, the last 24 of which have been with Turner. She has received numerous awards and accolades; such as being named one of the Top Women in Cable Tech by Cable World. She has also received several awards awarded by her division, and the company overall. Shea graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Jacksonville University, with concentrations in political science and music. She also has a juris doctorate from the University Of Miami School Of Law.
