Karen Montecuollo is the Vice President of Consumer & Social Media Insights at A+E Networks. Working within the company’s Insights Group: Audience & Brand, she is responsible for unearthing insights in business, brand, audience and cultural contexts to originate powerful brand ideas and communication strategies. Karen has more than a decade’s worth of experience in insights, analytics and business consulting for global brands, industry associations and government agencies.
Prior to her role with A+E Networks, Karen was Director of Brand Intelligence at J. Walter Thompson Worldwide where she created consumer research for global brands, such as Walmart, Johnson & Johnson and Nestle. In 2016, she also led the expansion of J. Walter Thompson’s research function in Europe. Karen began her career as a Consultant at Strategic Business Insights (formerly SRI International) working with clients at leading financial institutions such as Bank of America.
Karen also served as an Assistant Professor in the Strategic Communications Program at Columbia University where she taught Insights Discovery as well as Creative Expression and Channel Architecture. She is an active contributor within the research industry, previously serving on the Board of Directors for the Advertising Research Foundation’s (ARF) Young Pros organization and participating in the Advertising Education Foundation’s Visiting Professors program.
Karen graduated magna cum laude from The College of New Jersey with a dual degree in Economics and Political Science. She lives in NJ with her husband and 1-year old daughter.
