Julie Morris

Julie Morris has been the director of brand research for Scripps Networks Interactive’s Home Category brands HGTV, DIY Network and Great American Country since 2012. In this role, she provides research support for these brands’ programming, scheduling and marketing departments through the delivery of relevant project ideas to address the programming and marketing challenges of brand management. Morris develops and manages these research projects that provide senior management with the latest viewer insights and trends; her reporting has successfully translated into strategic initiatives for these brands to target key demographics and generate more revenue from advertisers.

 

Morris has been with Scripps for 11 years, previously serving as a research manager and analyst for HGTV. Prior to joining Scripps, Morris served as a marketing assistant for University New Media, ConduIT Corporation, where she supported all marketing initiatives for the Vanderbilt University affiliated Start-up Company. Among her many duties, she researched and designed sales, marketing and distribution plans for product launches and supported investor relations and venture fundraising initiatives.   

 

Morris began her career at the Purdue Research Group where she served as account manager, designing and implementing all aspects of custom market research projects for the company. In this role she analyzed and synthesized data into precise reports and supported major clients in a variety of industries.

 

A resident of Knoxville, Tenn., Morris enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her husband and two sons.
