Kendra Rudder

Kendra Rudder is the vice president of media strategies for HGTV and DIY Network.  Kendra holds a BS in Human Ecology and a MBA from the University of Tennessee.  Kendra started her career in the cable industry in 2001 when she was hired at Scripps Networks Interactive.  She started as a traffic assistant for DIY Network and worked her way up to manager of HGTV traffic before moving into the marketing department.  She has been in the marketing department for over seven years now. 

 

In her current role, she oversees the on-air and off-channel marketing campaigns for two of the most successful and loved brands in the cable industry; HGTV and DIY Network.  She works very closely with several different departments to ensure priority programs are being promoted at appropriate levels to garner high ratings.  She also works to build partnerships, both internally and externally, as well as working with the creative group on fresh new ways to market the networks’ programming.    

 

Kendra has been an extremely active member of WICT since 2007.  She was instrumental in helping develop the WICT presence in Knoxville and managed several of the early events here.  In 2010, she was elected to the board of directors of the WICT Southeast chapter as director of membership.  As director of membership, she oversaw recruitment at both the industry and collegiate levels.  She was responsible for planning the chapter’s largest annual membership drive, the Taste of WICT.  She also planned the first ever Taste of WICT in Nashville.  In 2011, she was once again elected to the WICT Southeast chapter board of directors as director of mentoring.  As director of mentoring, she was responsible for overseeing the Tennessee member’s participation in the WICT Southeast mentoring programs.  She hosted several events and coordinated with the Atlanta based team members on dual city events.  Outside of that, she have overseen many WICT events including lunch and learn events, webinars and larger events based in Knoxville and Nashville.
