Rachel Makofsky has been at Scripps Networks Interactive 6 years where she leads initiatives to grow Scripps’ audience and engagement. Currently as VP of New Media Distribution, she has had the opportunity to work on many first-of-kind deals with emerging digital platforms like Facebook, Microsoft, Pinterest, Roku, and Twitter. This role has been the ideal fusion of many of the skills that Rachel has gained over the course of her career and it is a thrill for her to put them to use on a daily basis.
Prior to Scripps, Rachel worked in a variety of positions from advertising Account Manager at J. Walter Thompson to Head of Consumer Marketing at Polar Electro, and Director of Business Development at WebMD. She also gained several years of start-up experience at Plum Benefits, growing it from 2 to 50 employees and prepping it for sale. Through her work at these companies, Rachel identified her passion for working with clients to establish win-win partnerships.
Rachel is excited to participate in WICT’s 2018 RLP program. She constantly looks for ways to raise the bar on her performance, expand her knowledge set and get to know industry peers, and Rising Leaders seems like a wonderful way to do these things. Rachel is a fitness enthusiast and mom of two. Outside of work, you can find her hiking, skiing, running or beaching in the outdoors with her husband, son and daughter in tow.
