Sara Vienna

As Design Director at Scripps Networks Interactive, Sara leads design teams to create multi-platform solutions for Travel Channel and HGTV. One of her recent projects, The Layover App with Anthony Bourdain, was selected by Apple as an App Store Best of 2012 winner, featured in The New York Times and Wired’s App Guide. Her work has been nominated for two Webbys and an Addy Award.

Prior to joining Scripps, Sara was a creative consultant designing products as wide ranging as mobile apps to hiding makeup in high trend jewelry and accessories. She lead the packaging team at Benefit Cosmetics, designing brands and products with "gotta have it" appeal. She was also a designer at MAKE and Chow Magazines, and the founding Art Director of Craft Magazine.

Sara holds a BA with honors from the School of Journalism at University of Nevada, Reno with an emphasis on advertising and digital media. She attended Miami Ad School with a focus on Art Direction and Design. Sara’s a member of WICT Washington DC and AIGA. A DC transplant by way of San Francisco, Sara lives in Chevy Chase with her husband and two year old son.
