Angela Foell is Senior Director of Software & Engineering and leads Comcast’s XRE UI Framework and X1 Guide Teams that create the X1 TV experience in millions of households. Her team’s cloud user interface software won Comcast an Emmy Award in Outstanding Achievement in Interactive Media, User Experience and Visual Design. Angela leads a cross-functional engineering team of 110 amazingly talented people.
Angela began her at Comcast in 2010 as the Technical Lead for Search, responsible for the XFINITY and TV Go federated search functionality. She then went on to build an all-star engineering team that pioneered Comcast’s XFINITY Stream web experience and under her leadership XFINITY Stream for the web platform was born. From there she grew her career to lead XFINITY Stream’s Platform & APIs team whose web services power the X1 TV Experience across iOS, Android, Web, Samsung and Roku.
Angela is part of Comcast’s Video Technology and Product Senior Leadership Team. Unified for promoting culture and defining new department initiatives, process and technical direction. She is an active evangelist of Comcast’s CORE Rotation and Intern programs and serves on Philadelphia’s TechWomen Programming Committee.
Angela and her husband Jim love the outdoors and enjoy mountain biking, kayaking, motorcycles and snowboarding.
