Ms. Frohlinger coauthored Her Place at the Table: A Woman’s Guide to Negotiating Five Key Challenges to Leadership Success, focused on why women have to negotiate in the workplace for things their male colleagues don’t and what those things are. She subsequently coauthored Nice Girls Just Don’t Get It: 99 Ways to Win the Respect You Deserve, the Success You’ve Earned, and the Life You Want, applying negotiation principles to the personal situations women face, illuminating potential pitfalls in difficult conversations and ways to deal with them successfully.
Ms. Frohlinger has appeared on TV, including the Today Show and Fox and Friends. Her advice has been featured by the Today Show, CBS MoneyWatch, NPR, and the New York Times, among other mainstream media. A cofounder of Negotiating Women, Inc., an advisory firm committed to helping organizations to advance talented women into leadership positions, Ms. Frohlinger has a wealth of experience in designing, developing and delivering highly customized negotiation and leadership programs for executive women. Using thirty years of social science research about the systemic factors that impact female leaders as the context, Ms. Frohlinger’s approach to leadership development emphasizes practical skills that equip women to position themselves to best advantage. On the organizational change side of the gender parity challenge, Ms. Frohlinger consults with senior leaders, designs diagnostic surveys, conducts focus groups with women at all levels and advises firms about how to launch and support women’s initiatives that deliver a solid return on investment.
Selected by then Senator Hillary Clinton to lecture on the issue of pay equity for women, Ms. Frohlinger served on a panel with the Senator to address the causes and implications of the gender gap in pay. She has been honored by The International Alliance for Women with its “World of Difference Award” and was named to Top 50 Most Influential Women List by the Irish Voice.
Living by the maxim, “To those whom much is given, much is expected, Ms. Frohlinger served on the New York State Bar Association’s Task Force for the Future of the Legal Profession as well as on its Committee on Women in the Law. She volunteers with The InterOrganizational Network (ION), an organization that focuses on increasing the number of women on the boards of America’s publicly held companies.
Ms. Frohlinger is a former sales executive, commercial banker and practicing attorney. She holds a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and is admitted to practice before New York and federal courts. She lives in New York City with her husband and is the proud parent of a daughter and son, regularly negotiating with each of them!
