Ellen J. Schned

​Industry veteran Ellen Schned spearheads a media consulting practice largely helping independent cable networks navigate in the challenging world of linear, digital and OTT distribution, in the U.S. and abroad.  As President of EJS Media, she assists in distribution, strategy, PR, government and public affairs. Clients include Ovation, RIDE TV, Cinemoi, Dog TV, Uphoric Music Festival TV, and have included research, technology and cable companies, including Charter and Mediacom, among others. 

 

Ellen was named a "Wonder Woman of Cable" by Multichannel News, one of the "Most Powerful Women in Cable" by Cablefax, won a "Gracie Award" from the Alliance for Women in Media and "Golden Beacon Award" from the CTPAA (Cable TV Public Affairs Assoc.) for outstanding Public Affairs Campaigns.  She is a BMLI fellow, Class 7, and currently serves on the WICT SoCal Board.

 

Ellen started her career in Washington, D.C. as an Attorney Advisor at the FCC in the Mass Bureau and Office of Legislative Affairs, then VP of Government Relations for Viacom.  She then headed to NYC where she was SVP Distribution, Affiliate Marketing and Local Ad Sales for Court TV and CBS College Sports, then back to L.A., where she is from, to head up Distribution for Ovation, before starting her own practice.

 

Ellen is based in L.A., attended Hastings College of the Law, where she was Student Body President, and UCLA.
