Emily Harrison has been a communications professional and people leader for more than 25 years. She got her start in print and broadcast journalism before discovering her passion for helping businesses achieve their goals through more effective employee and customer communications.
Emily’s first role in the business world was as a community affairs and media relations manager at US West, a 14-state regional telecommunications company. After US West was acquired by Qwest, Emily transitioned to internal communications, leading employee communications that helped build the new company culture. In addition to spending several years consulting for a variety of industries, Emily worked for Broadcom, a leading data-networking equipment maker, where she worked for six years before joining Comcast in 2019.
At Comcast, Emily oversees operational communications for the company’s West Division and leads a talented group of communications professionals. Her team is responsible for the information and training that the division’s Care and Technical Operations teams rely on for effective customer interactions. Together, they help to deliver strategic business solutions that are enabling Comcast to transform the customer experience. Harrison regularly collaborates with stakeholders and leaders across the West Division and at the company’s Philadelphia’s headquarters. She also owns the West Division’s communication strategy that ensures customers impacted by service outages, storms or natural disasters are informed in a timely and effective manner
Emily is a member of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) and the Mountain West Region’s Women’s Network at Comcast. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
