Emily Powers is a Director of Business Development in NBCUniversal’s Digital Distribution group. She is responsible for strategic oversight and deal negotiations for NBCU content distribution on certain third party digital platforms. Her area of focus includes mobile video distribution and supporting the team’s US and Canada MVPD relationships. Powers also has served as the main analyst for the broadcast Affiliate Relations team, working to develop and expand the company’s partnership with non-owned NBC station groups. Prior to her current role, Powers was a Manager on NBCUniversal’s Digital Distribution team from June 2008 through June 2010.
Before joining NBCU, Powers worked for HBO’s Emerging Technology Group as an MBA intern in Spring of 2008, where she evaluated video game business models to determine areas of opportunity for HBO to leverage its brand names within the gaming market. Additionally, she spent the summer with the IAC/Interactive Ad Solutions team, helping to develop mobile ad strategy across multiple brands.
Powers began her career as an Associate Producer at National Geographic Television & Film, where she produced natural history documentary programming for the National Geographic Channel.
She is an MBA graduate from NYU’s Stern School of Business. She currently resides in New York City with her husband.
