Heather Donahue is a Creative Director in ESPN Creative Studio’s Visual Storytelling team. There she leads a team that generates custom digital interactives, key art for ESPN+, ESPN Films, and ESPN’s 30 for 30 series, while also supporting daily visual needs across ESPN’s digital products on the web and across mobile devices. She leads a team of multi-disciplined designers, photo editors and front-end developers that collaborate, create, and inspire cross platform visual stories at ESPN.
Heather’s career began in the digital space following her graduation from the University of Hartford with a BFA in Visual Communication. Starting out as an Associate Designer at ESPN, Heather learned that even the smallest creative decisions can have long-term impact on resources and budgets. Throughout her career, Heather has focused on building collaborate partnerships across ESPN to drive its content, business, and sales goals, while also driving the evolution of ESPN’s visual storytelling across digital platforms.
Heather currently resides in Connecticut with her family. When she isn’t working, she’s volunteering her time with the Society of News Designers annual design competition, spending time with her immediate and extended family and trying to instill in her kids the love of sports by watching or playing.
