Jamila Daniel

Jamila Daniel is the director of human resources for Crown Media Family Networks, home of Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, which is owned and operated by Crown Media Holdings, Inc.

 

Daniel is responsible for the direction and deployment of day-to-day HR programs and operations necessary to drive business processes.  Her oversight includes staffing, retention, the development of talent, benefit administration, employee relations, wage and salary administration, and strategic planning.  Additionally, Daniel is responsible for executing key initiatives and establishing HR services standards.

 

Prior to joining Crown Media, Daniel served as associate director of human resources for SAG-AFTRA, where she provided HR support to approximately 600 employees.  There she focused on labor relations, employee relations, training and development, and organizational development.

 

Previously, Daniel served as business manager for the consortium, Service Employees International Union (SEIU), where she was responsible for building the organization’s operational infrastructure, which encompassed HR, administration, payroll, benefits, and accounting functions.

Daniel joined SEIU from Turner Broadcasting Systems, Inc. where she began her career in Human Resources.  Holding ascending positions as HR assistant and HR coordinator, Daniel managed and redesigned the Internship Program at CNN in Los Angeles to be a pipeline of diverse candidates for the Bureau.  

 

Daniel has translated her human resources expertise into worthwhile community service.  She regularly donates her time and expertise to Dress for Success, providing resume review and feedback, instructions on interviewing techniques, and fashion advice to women who are reentering the workforce following various personal and/or professional hardships.  She also serves as vice chair on the Board of the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce.

 

Daniel is a native of Los Angeles, and has one son.  She attended California State University at Northridge where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with an option in Management and emphasis in Human Resources.
