Jennifer Lazo is a digital media attorney with over thirteen years of legal experience focusing on intellectual property and media law. Jenny currently serves as Senior Director, Digital Media, in the Legal & Business Affairs division at A+E Networks, where she provide legal and strategic advice to A+E’s Global Content Sales and Digital Product Technology businesses. Jenny structures, drafts, and negotiates licensing agreements for the distribution and monetization of A+E’s TV and film content (including AVOD, SVOD, EST, TVOD and FAST channel content) on streaming platforms, smart enabled devices, social platforms, and A+E’s direct-to-consumer subscription apps. Jenny is also the lead attorney advising A+E’s rapidly growing podcast business and negotiating its podcast development, production, and distribution agreements. Additionally, she is responsible for agreements related to A+E’s consumer-facing websites and apps, including technology, digital ad sales, ad tech, ad operations, digital research and analytics, and digital marketing agreements. She also works closely with business divisions across A+E on global privacy and data security matters.
Prior to working at A+E, Jenny was Legal Counsel at Gucci, where she supported the luxury fashion brand’s North American retail and corporate operations, focusing on brand protection and intellectual property enforcement, real estate and construction, and general commercial matters. Jenny also served as Associate General Counsel at Wenner Media, where she counseled the editorial and business teams for Rolling Stone, Us Weekly, and Men’s Journal magazines. Jenny started her legal career as an associate attorney in the Trademark and Copyright group of the international law firm Baker Botts, where she advised clients across various industries, including telecommunications, consumer electronics, gaming, financial services, food and beverage, and fashion.
Jenny earned her B.A. in Computer Science from Cornell University, and her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. She currently resides in New York City.
