Laura Abril, SVP Multibrand VIMN Iberia, manages the Editorial Strategy at Viacom Iberia, including Marketing, Production and Programming. In this role, she deals with the company’s overall brand and content portfolio, addressing a wide range of targets from preschoolers to adults. These brands are: Nick Jr., Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central and Paramount Network.
She started her career at The Walt Disney Company Iberia as an Acquisitions Coordinator at The Disney Channel, in the programming team. Still in the same corporation, she was offered a distribution role, becoming Sales Executive at Buena Vista International Television, dealing with all Spanish & Portuguese cable & broadcast companies.
Four years later she moved to Sony Pictures International Television as a Head of Acquisitions for its channels in Iberia, from where she went to Cosmopolitan Television Spain (Hearst Entertainment) as Programming, Production & Operations Director.
In 2009 she joined Viacom as Vice President Editorial, MTV Spain, to lead the launch of the channel on free to air in DTT, one year later. In this position, the channel became a reference in brand and content development, with successes such as "Alaska & Mario", a local cultural phenomenon, or "Gandía Shore", based on the international hit franchise.
Since 2014, as VP Youth & Music Brands for South Europe, Middle East and Africa, Laura has supervised these brands in Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Greece, Africa and MENA. In 2016 she incorporated to her role the Kids & Family portfolio and added 6 more territories in central Europe.
