Lisa Nolen Birmingham is Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs for Comcast’s Heartland Region, which serves over 1.7 million subscribers in Arkansas, Indiana, Michigan, western Kentucky and southern Illinois. Based in Plymouth, Michigan, Lisa leads a team of seasoned government affairs professionals supporting more than 900 communities, including Detroit, Indianapolis, and Little Rock and oversees development and implementation of key cable franchise and advocacy initiatives. Lisa brings more than 15 years of legislative and regulatory experience to her role.
In 2006, she joined Comcast as Director of Government Affairs for the Northern New England Region after serving as Vermont counsel and Government Affairs Director for Adelphia Communications. Prior to joining the cable industry, she practiced regulatory law for eight years and earned marketing and advertising experience with Boston’s Eliot Bank and New York’s Grey Advertising.
Lisa graduated magna cum laude from Vermont Law School and earned her undergraduate degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. Active in civic and community organizations, she currently serves on the Board of the Urban League of Detroit and Southeast Michigan and the Michigan Cable and Telecommunications Association. She is the Chapter Advisor for WICT Michigan and was recently accepted into the WICT Betsy Magnus Leadership Institute’s Fall, 2012 Class 27.
