Melissa Filippone is the research director for WE tv and Wedding Central. In her role, Melissa is responsible for supporting each department at the network with relevant qualitative, quantitative and Nielsen analyses. She has played a major role in several key projects, including helping to craft upfront presentations for ad sales and working with the business development team to bring in new advertisers. Melissa also oversees development focus groups for programming, has created viewer profiles for each of our brands and assisted in the launch of new network Wedding Central.
Melissa received her Bachelor’s degree in Statistics from Rutgers University in 2002. After working for a year as a research assistant in Princeton University’s Office of Population Research, she became a Scarlet Knight once again, attending Rutgers’ School of Communication’s Master’s program. It was during her time there that she first learned about television research – a job that combined her affinity for numbers with her love of television. An internship in the research department at Lifetime Television was where Melissa’s career officially began. After graduating, she accepted a position as a research analyst for WE tv. Melissa was promoted to WE tv’s research manager in 2008 and recently appointed to the role of research director in the beginning of 2011.
