Nancy Spears is a Vice President in Comcast’s Video Business
Unit. She manages the electronic sell
through business for Comcast that enables XFINITY customers to purchase digital
movies and TV shows to own from the XFINITY On Demand platform. Nancy led the team to successfully launch the
product across all platforms (TV, computers, and mobile devices) to more than
20 million XFINITY TV customers in Nov 2013.
She is responsible for defining and implementing strategies
to increase Comcast video subscribers’ awareness, usage and monetization of the
Xfinity TV video on demand platform. Recent noteworthy projects include: leading Comcast’s efforts to sell digital
media (movies and television shows) via an ownership model and driving the Xfinity/
NBCU 2012 Olympics’ effort. Nancy was also
one of the initial team members of Comcast Interactive Media, the division
responsible for defining Comcast’s participation in online media and TV
Everywhere. She served as general
manager of the entertainment television website XfinityTV.com, growing the
website to 7 million monthly users.
With more than 15 years combined experience working in
general management, strategy, and business operations positions, Nancy’s skills
include strategic planning, product management, business development, marketing,
financial analysis and budgeting. Nancy
holds a BA in Economics and Comparative Area Studies from Duke University and a
MBA from Harvard University. She lives
in the Philadelphia area with her husband and two children.
