Ravena Valentine

Ravena Valentine is Senior Vice President and Leader of the People Partner Team at A + E Networks. She joined A + E in January of 2020 specifically to oversee the Business Partner function. Ravena plays a very important role in setting the strategic direction and the agenda for the People Function at A + E Networks. Prior to joining A + E, Ravena was the Senior HR Leader in support of the Retail Solutions Business at Cox Automotive from the Summer of 2016 through January of 2020. She ventured into the Automotive Industry after having spent many years in the Media space at places like the Madison Square Garden Company, where she was the VP & HR Business Partner for the Corporate groups, in addition to the role she played to help the HR Department undergo a transformation. Prior to MSG, Ravena spent time at Cablevision supporting the Local Media businesses which included Newsday, News 12 and Cablevision Media Sales as well as some of the Corporate functions such as Legal, Government Affairs and Communications.

Prior to her time in Media, Ravena spent 5 years at Citigroup as the Global HR Generalist for the Treasury and Trade Solutions business as well as Bank Services, Risk Management, Marketing and GTS Reengineering. She was instrumental to managing talent during a troubling time in Financial Services. In addition to her time at Citi, she spent 2 years as an HR Generalist supporting Global Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley.

In 2002, Ravena made her introduction to the Media & Entertainment industry when she joined ESPN where she spent four and a half years in a variety of HR roles, helping to build out their new HR function which helped shape her career. Ravena began her career in Human Resource Management at 1-800-Flowers.com during the “dot com” boom in 1997.

Ravena holds a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management and Labor Relations from New York Institute of Technology and a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. Ravena is a member of SHRM and Women in Cable Television. In 2005, Ravena was part of the inaugural NAMIC Leadership Seminar modeled after NAMIC’s prestigious Executive Leadership Development

Program (ELDP) at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.

Ravena resides in Long Island with her husband, Michael and their 3 children, elder son, Braedon and twins Amaya and Gabriel.
