Samira Sharif works at ViacomCBS as the VP, U.S. Distribution. She leads the negotiation efforts with Pay-TV (traditional and OTT) distributors to drive content distribution for the ViacomCBS portfolio of broadcast, cable, and premium networks in addition to the company’s direct-to-consumer apps. In addition to leading the negotiations she also identifies partnerships with distributors to drive new revenue and create additional value for the VCBS portfolio. Prior to joining ViacomCBS she spent more than 6 years as Director, TV Networks Distribution where she was responsible for negotiating and managing complex agreements with our large and mid-size/smaller distributors including Comcast, DISH and Charter for CBS, CBS Sports Network, Smithsonian, and Pop. Her current client includes Comcast, YouTube, Charter, Verizon, and Cox.
Samira started her cable career at Oxygen Media as an Account Manager before joining MTV Networks as a Manager in the Content Distribution group before being promoted to Director. She handled the strategic analysis and contract compliance for the Comcast, Mediacom, and NCTC accounts. She also led all local marketing efforts and spearheaded various revenue generating campaigns with our distribution partners.
Samira possesses over 15 years of sales and marketing experience in both the music and cable/broadcast industries. She is an avid runner who loves to eat and travel with her husband and two lovely, smart, and curious daughters- Nia and Laila.
Samira holds a B.S. in Communication from NYU and is a proud graduate of NAMIC’s ELDP Program.
