Sara Nizzardo

Sara Nizzardo is a Quality Assurance Manager ESPN.   In this role she is responsible for oversight of three unique teams that support ESPN’s enterprise business.  These teams focus on delivery quality enterprise products for users of the Affiliate Sales team, internal users of their scheduling, billing, and traffic applications, and other applications that support the day to day needs of many various ESPN departments throughout the company.

Sara has been in Quality Assurance for 17 years, starting at AT&T as a Quality Assurance Analyst, and then moving to ESPN in 2005.  From there, Sara helped grow her team of one and implement the process of Quality Assurance within a newly formed team of developers.  After gaining valuable lead experience, she had the opportunity of taking responsibility for guiding two additional teams.  The oversight of these teams helped expand her managerial experience and learn new areas of the business.

She is passionate about empowering and inspiring women in technology, and currently co-leads ESPN’s Wtech group, helping to provide content, learning programs, and the latest news to ESPN’s team of women technologists.  Sara was also recently nominated for WICT New England’s Women to Watch (Management).

Sara graduated from Central CT State University with a BS in Management Information Systems, and currently resides in Plymouth, CT with her husband Steve, twin five year old sons Justin and Nathan, and 3 year old daughter Megan.  In her time off, she enjoys spending time with her children, playing, swimming, and reading.   She constantly strives to achieve that balance between a rewarding work life and home life, and also enjoys participating in mentor programs to help other excel in those areas.
