Sharmistha Chatterjee is the director of social media for Crown Media Family Networks, home of three linear networks, Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, and Hallmark Drama; subscription video on demand streaming service, Hallmark Movies Now; and publishing division, Hallmark Publishing. Chatterjee is based in Los Angeles and reports to Crown Media’s Vice President of Social Media, Angela Megrey.
Chatterjee develops and oversees social media initiatives that bolster network and program awareness and drive tune in, ratings and revenue. She collaborates with multiple departments including advertising sales, digital, and publicity, and more to create cohesive social media campaigns that increase fan engagement and amplify Hallmark’s signature brand of feel-good entertainment.
Prior to joining Crown Media in 2016, Chatterjee served as director of marketing and social media at Variety, where she developed marketing programs and promotional materials consumer and events businesses. Previously, she served as manager of marketing for Warner Bros., where she managed successful digital marketing campaigns for various business units.
Chatterjee holds a master’s degree in communications and public relations from Syracuse University. She is an active member of The WICT Network and National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC). In addition, she was recognized among Cynopsis Top Women in Media’s Directors Who Do It All in 2018 and Social Media Groundbreakers in 2021.
