Vanessa is currently the Manager of Production and Development for Nickelodeon Preschool Television. She was hired in 2004 as the Executive Assistant to the VP of Production and has continuously moved up within the department. She has been working in a managerial role at Nickelodeon for over 3 years. Vanessa works on a number of preschool properties, including but not limited to: Bubble Guppies, Fresh Beat Band and Dino Dan. She manages the day to day operations of production, being the liaison between the production units and all the other lines of business (marketing, music, consumer products, and talent to name a few). She gives notes on scripts, watches cuts, and routes materials to the creators for review – ensuring along the way that the integrity of the show is kept intact.
In addition to working on specific productions, Vanessa manages the awards submission process for the department, submitting to such awards as the Daytime Emmys and Annie Awards. As the intern supervisor for the department she hires and manages the department’s interns each and every semester, ensuring they have a valuable learning experience and become knowledgeable in the world of preschool TV. Vanessa has been with Viacom for 10 years, and 8 of those years have been spent with Nickelodeon Preschool Television.
Born and raised in New York, Vanessa received her BA in Communication Arts from University of Wisconsin-Madison where she also spent a semester abroad at University of London. Prior to Viacom Vanessa worked for 2 years at the high end diamond company, Louis Glick & Co.
